Sketchbook Project 2012

The drawings on this page are done as part of the “Sketchbook Project 2012“.  Sketchbooks done by artists all over the country participate by completing and submitting sketchbooks to the Brooklyn Art Library.  The completed sketchbooks for a year, in this case 2012, go on “tour” prior to becoming a permanent part of the library’s collection.

This year, the sketchbook is a 7×5 inch by Scout Books.  For my entries, I have used Faber-Castell Pitt ink pens over graphite.  The ink is archival and acid free.

The idea is to create a sketchbook using a theme.  I chose “Travel With Me”.  My initial idea was to do on-location drawings from around my home county and places I visit throughout the year 2012.  But, life has a way of changing things.  After a few drawings, I changed my mind and started traveling through my souvenir collection.  It may be a little of an odd mix, but it was great fun drawing.  I hope you enjoy my sketchbook.  If you are able to visit the tour at any of its locations, or visit the library, my sketchbook’s call number is 154.2-10.

Thank you!
