Pig With Petunias
Just a little Saturday in May silliness…serious silliness! Enjoy, because I certainly enjoyed painting my pig with petunias.
New Painting: “I Can’t Hear You!”
This painting is from design 14 of my “Just Sayin’…” series. This series is inspired by the interesting poses we take while talking on our mobile, cell, smart phones. Sometimes, I find the poses amusing especially when I do them myself. Since my young woman hear is thoroughly modern, I thought I’d include a device or two borrowed from the Cubist. I like the double face because it’s hard to say where the person is looking…maybe inward?
This painting is not officially declared done, but I am about ready to take it off the backing board. I think I have reached the point where I do not dare add or subtract anything. What do you think? (Dangerous question! J)

Learning
As I continue to experiment with the toned paper, I’m learning how I see “values”. It seems that I like to hover around the middle range values. I use my darkest darks and lightest lights only as highlights. I think I need to draw again and extend the range of lights and darks.
The other thing I’m learning is that I love to learn! And I love to draw! The more I draw this napkin and other familiar objects, the more I learn. Funny!
